Just a quick update for you all. A date has been set for us to have our "Cards for Hero's" day making cards for our soldiers to send to their families. We have chosen October 10 at 2PM. We will be meeting at my home and I will provide all supplies needed to make the cards (please bring your own adhesive if possible) and all I ask is that you give a donation to help cover the costs of the supplies. I will have snacks to keep you going on this great task and fun will be had by all!! Please RSVP if you are going to be able to make it to this celebration, so that I know I have enough supplies for everyone. My email is janiga475@hotmail.com or you can leave me a comment on here as well.
Thanks again for your support of this great cause!!

Baby shower invitation
I have the great honor of being asked to make invitations for my nephew's wife's baby shower coming in October. As we all know, September isn't too far away, so I need to get a jump on these, as I have to make 29 of them.
For this card, I cut the card base with the Nestabilities Label One largest die leaving a little bit of room at the top so the fold wasn't cut. Then I took my pp (by Heidi Grace Designs) and cut that with the same die, but using the whole thing so you can't see the card fold. I colored "ginger" from the CC Designs set "Oh Baby" with my Copic markers, cut her out and put foam squares behind her to lift her off the page. I then took the smallest Label One die and cut out the sentiment from that same set. I added a little bit of cocoa ink around the edges of the sentiment and also put that on a foam square. I added some ribbon I got at Michaels and that's it!!
I hope all of you had a great day, as I did, and hope to see you back here tomorrow!!

Nature
Today I have another card I made for the Copic Buzz challenge #11 sponsored by Flourishes stamps on Papercraft Planet.
I had recently purchased some fall mix flower soft and have been dying to use it, then when I saw the stamp of all the trees, I know that would be perfect. After that, the front of the card just needed something else, so I finally got out my Copic airbrush system (that has been here in the box for over a month) and color some leaves to go on the front. Oh, I almost forgot, I got out my Martha Stewart picket fence punch and punched some "wood" looking fence for the front as well. I then added some "winter" dew drops and there you go!! Now all I need to do is find a good sentiment to put in the inside and it will be all done and ready for fall mailing!!
Thanks again for looking, and I hope you all have a great day!!

Copic Buzz Design Team
Yah, today the design team was announced for Copic Buzz and I have the great honor of being one of them. Today's post is my first project as a design team member and the challenge this week is to be inspired by nature. This challenge is sponsored by Flourishes stamps, and let me tell you, they have awesome stamps over there!!! Here is a link to their website!!
Ok, on to the project. I bought this little tin some time ago and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I decided once I saw this image by Dustin Pike called "soaking" to use this tin as a "snowman soup" tin. I am going to fill it with hot cocoa and small marshmallows and a little mini candycane. Everything you need on a cold winter day!!
The paper for this project is by Close to my heart and is in the Sweet Home paper pack. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and I used the Martha Stewart snowflake punch.
I hope you all have a great day and thank you for taking a look!!

Cards for Soldiers
Today my post does not include a card for you, however, it is about cards. I would like to get a group of people together sometime in the next month or so to make cards to send to the soldiers that are deployed away from their families. I would like to make not only Christmas cards, but birthday cards, anniversary cards, etc. so that our soldiers can send something special and made with love to their families waiting for them to come back. It is my way of showing how much I appreciate all that they do for me and my family and would like all the help I can get. If you don't live close to Holland Michigan and cannot come to this event, please feel free to contact me and I will give you my address for you to send your cards to, so that I may pass them on.
Please note that there are some specifications that they ask for these cards. They want them to be A2 size if possible, if you use dark cardstock they ask that you put a liner in it so that you can see the writing by the soldier, no glitter, you can stamp the back of the card that it's handmade, but they ask that you include "cards for hero's" on the back as well.
Also, if you will be making them and sending them to me, please include a packing slip with your contact information on it for me to pass along so that you get credit for your wonderful cards!!
Thank you in advance for all of your support!! And please let me know if you need any further information.

Monkey card
Today's card is a birthday card that I made for a special little boy who's turning one soon. His nickname is Monkey, so I knew I just had to make a monkey card for him. This card is made from clear cardstock from Papertrey Ink, the monkey stamp and the bananas are from CC Designs and the leaves are rub ons from DCWV. The sentiment is computer generated. The stamp is colored with my awesome Copic markers as well as the bananas. I used nestabilities to cut around the monkey and the background paper is also from DCWV.
Thanks for looking and I hope you all had a great day!!

She is my sister
This is a 2-page scrapbook layout I did featuring my 2 beautiful daughters. Nicole is the oldest (she is 17) and Haley is the youngest (she will be 15 next month). I used the Emporium paper pack from Close To My Heart for this layout.
I hope everyone is having a great day, and take some time to make something beautiful!!

Welcome
I would like to welcome you to my new blog. This isn't something I ever thought I would be doing, but as life has taken some crafty turns lately, I decided that there is no time like now to start!!
With this first post, I will post a card that I recently made for our weekly challenge over on Copic Buzz on Papercraft Planet. The image used for this card is from Penny Black and is called "ginger". I have had this stamp for almost a year and haven't had the right time to use it until now. Our challenge was to use pink and brown in our design.
Thank you for stopping by my little blog and looking at my work. I hope to post every day, however, as we all know, sometimes every day doesn't happen like you wish. I look forward to meeting some great artists and friends on here.
Have a great day!!
